Probably The Last Lawn Update

Adam here to settle people's minds about how the new lawn ultimately turned out. You know, for all of you who are lying awake at night wondering about the state of my house's surrounding vegetation.

Anyway, here are three pictures showing the front, corner, and side yards. A lot of the patches that were not growing well are catching up to the really thick parts. It looks great overall, especially compared to the other yards in my neighborhood. On to the pictures:

It's a shame that we waited this long to do this. The yard finally looks great, just in time for us to leave it behind. :-(

BUBBLES!!!

Yesterday afternoon, Adam is in the kitchen, by the table, opening a new package of bubble wands.

Joshua is eating popcorn at the coffee table in the living room. Like a gopher, his head pops up when he hears what Daddy is doing.

"Hey! What's that?"

"Bubblebubblebubblebubblebubblebubblebubbles!!!"

Ever since he played with bubbles at his little friend Mya's birthday party last month, he has been in love with them. Mya happened to be playing at our house yesterday, too, so we all had fun with bubbles.

And then, the bubbles ran out. Oh the sadness! There is a classic 2-year-old melt down whenever the bubbles run out and it's time to go in. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

Lawn Update

Adam here with another progress report on the new lawn. After being dismayed at seeing that weeds have already infiltrated several parts of the new lawn, I put down some fertilizer with weed control in it. This should help to control and/or eliminate the weeds that took root while my grass was trying to grow.

Anyway, things are looking pretty good. Large portions of the lawn are lush and beautiful, while there are still some patches where the seed hasn't really grown all that well yet. From what I have read and heard, this is fairly common. Hopefully the seed in those patches will catch up with all of its friends. Here are some pictures taken after the second time that I had to mow the new lawn:

Camping

We went camping this past weekend with Adam's family, and it was Joshua's first camping trip. We went to Indian Creek campground, which is about 8 miles east of White Pass. We all had a great time with good food and only minimal rain.

Relaxing with a juice box.

Grandpa, Grandma, Brek and Julia

The master chef.

Our tent.

Joshua and Kacy.

Joshua liked to go exploring around the campsite.

He found pine cones.

And sometimes got stuck.

He loves his doodle pad...

...and Uncle Kacy's longboard.

We all had a fun time and I'm glad we got to spend some time with Adam's family before we move to Texas.

It's Alive!

Adam here with another lawn update. Here are some pictures of what the new lawn looks like today:

This is a close-up from the same angle as in the last post. You can see the clear difference.

From the street, you can see lots of little green blades of tender new grass coming up.

Same with the front/side yard. This is where the new grass is growing best so far. I am excited to see just how much more it will grow within the next couple of days. I hope it stays this green and healthy as it matures.
