Two Years Old!

Joshua turned two years old yesterday! He has had a fun month. He caught another cold after being around all the family during my grandpa's funeral, but it wasn't too bad. He seems to have been sick at least once a month this winter. Hopefully he's done being sick for a while. Let's see, what else has happened this month...

Joshua found out that kitties make good pillows...

Joshua has so much to say lately. He babbles and babbles all day long. There are a couple actual words in there, too. He can copy what we say pretty well, if he's in the mood. In fact, he likes to copy lots of things. When his little friends are over, he likes to do everything that they do, whether it be laying on the floor, leaning against the wall, running in circles, etc. He still loves Blues Clues and has started copying the dances that Steve does on the show. It made me laugh out loud the first time I saw him do it. It is hilarious to watch him. Joshua also LOVES to draw on his little magna-doodle pad. He has always liked to mess around with it, but these past few weeks, it has really captured his attention. He can sit and occupy himself for what seems like hours. It's a travel-size pad, so we take it everywhere we go. When it's time to get in the car, he grabs it and heads for the door. He is also getting some more teeth. His two-year molars are coming in on the bottom.

We had a family birthday party for Joshua on Saturday. Adam's family and my family converged on my parents' house and had dinner. Then we helped Joshua open his presents and had cake and ice cream.

Hot Wheels from Uncle Brek

Elmo books, interactive sound book, and clothes from Grandma and Grandpa Hansen

Curious George book, book of colors, and a puzzle from Grandma and Grandpa Pratt

Blues Clues doll and big doodle pad from Uncle Kevin and family.

Adam found a fantastic deal on craigslist for this Radio Flyer tricycle. Joshua loved it and immediately climbed on. His legs don't quite reach the pedals yet, though. He loves to climb on it and be pushed around and around.

This is the birthday cake I made.

We searched three or four different stores before we found one that had number "2" candles in stock. Then the next day I was looking in the cupboard for something and found a baggie of candles, including a number "2" candle we had saved from one of Adam's brother's birthday cakes last summer. And then we forgot to bring either one of the candles to the party. **sigh**

Thank you everyone for the gifts! Joshua LOVES playing with his new toys. He dove for the big doodle pad the next morning and loves playing with his new cars. He lines them up and moves them around.

We love having Joshua in our family and are grateful for his smiles, giggles and big hugs!
